MUSICAL DIRECTING
Hudson Crowe is a London based musical director, pianist, percussionist, conductor, and arranger.
Hudson is currently working as a freelancer and teacher in London at Urdang Academy, Bird Conservatoire, and does a variety of other cover MD work in town including making rehearsal and show tracks, leading rep sessions, teaching voice lessons, arranging, and formatting sheet music.
Hudson's passion for Musical Theatre has given him the opportunity to graduate from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS), in Glasgow, with an MA in Musical Theatre with a focus in Musical Directing, under the direction of David Higham. There, he was given the opportunity to music direct, arrange, play keys, and conduct for RCS's annual Christmas at the Conservatoire program and Urinetown as an actor-muso. He also music directed for the MA New Work and Ensemble Song & Dance projects, as well as A Little Night Music at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
In the U.S., Hudson has traveled to Crawford, Nebraska as a music director for Post Playhouse's 2023 Summer Program. There, he music directed and played for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat; You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown; The Spitfire Grill; and Clue: The Musical. In Crawford, Hudson also musical directed and performed for the season's cabaret, and played drum set for Leader of the Pack.
His other credits include rehearsal pianist for Virginia Tech's production of Once Upon a Mattress in fall of 2022, Assistant Music Directing Radford University's production of The Drowsy Chaperone in the spring of 2022,
playing keys at the Virginia Children's Theatre in Roanoke, VA, for their productions of The Addams Family and The Secret Garden in the fall seasons of 2021 and 2022, respectively.
